New Delhi, 30 October (NNS): Butter consumption is currently good in both local markets and outstation markets. Meanwhile, some export deals for butter have been concluded, and their shipments are due shortly. However, fresh export orders are comparatively fewer. A considerable quantity of stocks was cleared during the market’s consolidation phase over the past fortnight. Production at manufacturing plants reported to be weak as compared to the corresponding period last year, while milk prices at Rs 64/Rs 65 per litre have increased production costs. As a result, desi ghee prices rose by Rs 10 per kg during the previous fortnight, prompting manufacturing companies to reduce their selling activity. Currently, companies are quoting Rs 10,100/Rs 10,350 per tin, although goods are being sold in the market at prices below the quoted rates. At present, the arrival of adulterated ghee in Khari Baoli has declined, but its availability remains higher in smaller markets. Considering all these factors, desi ghee prices are unlikely to decline for now.

Milk Powder: Demand from dry fruits Manufacturers showed uptrend

New Delhi, 30 October (NNS): Demand for milk powder from dry fruits manufacturers has started increasing before Diwali. Stocks of milk powder are not particularly high at any plant. Moreover, cooperative dairies across the country are not facing any stock pressure. On the other hand, milk powder prices in South India are ruling higher, which has led to increased demand for North Indian milk powder as soon as buying activity picked up. Although raw milk procurement at plants has increased to nearly 90 lakh litres during the current week because of the strict action against milk adulteration has created fear among milk suppliers. Meanwhile, as temperatures have not risen significantly, companies are procuring milk at Rs 64/Rs 65 per litre to operate their powder plants. At the prevailing rates of Rs 340/Rs 353 per kg, trading should be conducted openly, as milk powder demand has increased in the market with the opening of today’s session.
