New Delhi, 26 October (NNS): Last week, the daily supply of raw milk in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh has increased to 82/83 lakh litres, due to this, the production of milk powder expected to be around 875/880 metric tonnes.
Desi Ghee: Shortage of Butter at Processing Plants
New Delhi, 26 October (NNS): The supply of liquid milk has improved in North India, but the prices have gained to Rs 64/65 per litre which increases the production costs for processing plants. As a result, premium-quality desi ghee prices rose by another Rs 150 per tin at the beginning of last week and some companies quoting it at Rs 10100/10550 per tin. Mother Dairy has also increased desi ghee prices due to lower butter stocks. Other federations are also facing a shortage of stock. Considering upcoming consumption demand, there is a possibility of a further increment of Rs 10 per kg in the private sector soon. Desi ghee prices are currently higher than during the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, companies are focusing on increasing butter production, as some export deals concluded last month are still pending.
