New Delhi, 22 October (NNS): Exports of butter and desi ghee to Egypt and other countries have seems high as comparatively. Plants are not facing any inventory pressure, and the peak season is still some time away. Considering these factors, there is no downward pressure on desi ghee prices. After remaining stable for a few days, prices are expected to rise further. Companies are now selling butter rather than building up stocks. Moreover, strict action against adulterated products has increased sales of quality desi ghee. In view of festive demand, the prevailing prices of desi ghee at Rs 10100/10350 per tin are unlikely to decline. However, companies are quoting different rates. Products that pass quality tests are being supplied directly to confectioners and sweet manufacturers at ₹8,600–8,800, depending on the brand.
